Original M1940 Dog Tag Chain. This is an Original WWII M1940 Dog Tag Chain as issued to troops from 1940 to 1943. These are not New Old Stock.
It features a two sterling silver chains, one long and one short with stainless steel sister hooks to secure the tags in place. These chains are slightly lighter than the reproduction M1940 Dog Tag Chains we sell. Chains may vary in color slightly due to age. Each of our original m1940 Dog Tag Chains has been thoroughly inspected and cleaned.

I bought 2 sets because I thought they were Sterling Silver. They are not. Don’t know what they actually are, but for sure not Sterling. I already have three sets of original WWII chains that ARE Sterling (including my father’s). These chains clean up but they don’t polish up. They also have a slight copper tint. I sent an email about this when I first received them but it has been a week and no response.

I couldn’t be happier with mine. I really like that its an original from 1940-43 and the chain is much more silver than the one in the photo. It has some tarnishing because of its age but that only adds to it.
