Quality clutch-back metal Airborne Wings, perfect for the field or dress uniform. Made in USA. Clutch back jump wings did exist in World War II. For the history of WWII US Army Jump Wings click here. The Parachutist Badge was formally approved on 10 March 1941. The Basic Parachutist Badge was awarded to any individual who satisfactorily completed the prescribed proficiency tests while assigned or attached to an airborne unit or who participated in at least one combat parachute jump. Symbolism: The wings suggest flight and, together with the open parachute, symbolize individual proficiency and parachute qualifications.

    The wings are very solid, very well made and of very high quality (at least in my opinion). To be real honest with you, I feel these wings are more solid and better constructed than my issued jump wings from many years ago.

    Very high quality and excellent material. Looks to be modern Jump-wings for the military, but other than when it was made, are identical to the WWII badges!
